Went to a Cars N Coffe yesterday morning, pretty good turnout. Anyway, after the event ended I decided to tak a little ride before it got too hot. I was just amazed at the number of thumbs up I got driving down the road. Pulled in to get fuel and it took me 45 minutes to get out of there. People wanted to check out the clapped out Valiant. Most were surprised to find that the car doesn’t have the fake patina.

I get the same reactions whenever I am driving my Dart Sport or my Ventura, even though it seems that a lot of people don't know what they are, they still appreciate seeing them on the road. At a local auto parts store last summer I walked out to my Dart and found 4 people waiting for me to come out and start it, just to hear it run. Haven't had it on the road this year, too many bugs still to fix, plus I was away for a good part of the summer working and just didn't have time.
My wife and I took the Ventura on our vacation in June and we had plenty of comments about it everywhere we went.

Went to a 4 day event, Pioneer Days. Hundreds of tractors dating back early 1900s ,all the hit and Miss engines, thrashing, saw mill, blacksmith, etc. They welcome pre1973 cars and trucks also. I always bring my 59 Fury and people love that car at this show

This one doesn’t get out much, but it runs and drives.

This survivor doesn’t get out much either, but it sure is a nice little driver.

My first car was a ‘59 Ford. 2DR Ranch Wagon to be exact. Dad at the time had a ‘56 Chevy and the ‘59 Ford. He told me I had (2) options for my birthday:
1) Give him $2500 for the Chevy
2) I could have the Ford for free

and you all know how the rest of that story went. RIP Dad 8/31/56 - 9/14/22

1984 when he bought it for my mom’s 25th birthday:

Around 1990 after new paint job we did. He loved the black and white photos:

Around 1993 after I got my hands on it. Another full repaint. Dad always did body/paint work on the side:
