Damn, did I already tell you in my previous thread that it was cold today? I was surprised at how hard the cars ran today. The race motors like the cool air but the traction is usually lacking. Not so at Cedar Falls Raceway in mid 40's temps. TomMoparMan ran harder than he ever has. His 60 ft times were records for his Duster and he got a chance to see the clouds. This photo proves the point. tmm

The second batch of photos are from kikgas01. Shane is a lucky dog and lives just a mile from the drag strip. He had 2 of his rides there today. One is a 54 Dodge rat rod pick up. (I think that's the right year) It has a oem injected Magnum engine on a Dakota chassis. The engine compartment looks like it should back in the mid 50's except it is a v 8 and fuel injected. I forgot to ask what tranny it has but I would imagine it has a od and a late model rear with disc brakes up front. Shane has driven it all over the midwest and said it cruise straight down the road like a new one. His Charger came from Hawaii and is straight and clean for a original. That guy get's all the good ones. LOL tmm

Here's some more photos. I just love the silver Arrow and the Colt. The red Coronet (3 rd car) caught fire on the return road and damaged the front of the car. Luckily the driver/owner only got minor burns to his fingers when he tried to put the fire out. I felt so bad for the guy that I couldn't snap a bunch of photos of the damage. tmm

The next group are all A bodies. Most had screemin' small blocks although the big cube strokers had their own sound. Lots of good cars and some were exceptional. The car show was small but it was pretty uncomfortable out there. I'm not suprised at the low turnout. tmm

Note the dial in on the baby blue Valiant 4 door is 11:74. it sounded good and was impressive. The green Super Bee is flawless and is a E-85 burner. It smells like cotton candy when it goes by. tmm

Great pics! At least it didn't rain as it looked cloudy and cool there.

More for you. The first 2 shots are owned by Terry a friend and customer and has a nasty 440 in it. Very nice!!

Here's a few that I skipped over earlier. I hope you enjoyed the photos a smuch as I enjoyed taking them. tmm The black 50? something Plymouth was the coolest! Wait a minute, whose 66 Dart was that? I think my car was the only early A there. It did attract quite a bit of attention. Mike

Great pics Mike. Thanks! Pretty good turnout considering the cold snap. I love gatherings like that......not crazy crowded, more personal. Btw, the Dart looks really good :thumleft:.

Great photos tmm. My camera would DIE right away because it was so cold and only got a couple pics. It was really neat. I took the Charger home and come back to get the 49 and low and behold, there was a working heater that is from a old Mopar in my truck!!!!!! Come to find out a buddy had some items at the swapmeet and nobody even looked at it. He said he set there and looked at the 49, looked at the heater and thought yep!!!!!! How awesome is that? Only Mopar people do things like that he has a 71 Demon with a aluminum 318(yes the block is aluminum) notice anything else? Also are pics of the heater and the whopping 2 pics I took today lol. TMM! It was great seeing you!

My truck is a 49 on a 94 Dakota chassis so it has the 5.2 Magnum, fuelinjection, rack and pinion steering, disc brakes, 391 rear and overdrive.

Thanks kikgas, and yes the heater is cool :thumleft:. Your truck speaks for itself, super cool! Blown and injected Demon.....Wow.

Very cool, great job at capturing all those cool rides. It was almost like being there in person, except I got to view all the cars from the warmth of my living room. I just don't get to hear any run.

Thanks, Aj

Dang, I caught the Arrow on the return road and in the pits but never saw him run. tmm
