This should be mandatory watching for all gearheads. @Joeychgo...@6pk2goDemon...any chance to make this a sticky somewhere?

See the how to articles tab on top? click it. Big red button says "create article"

Include the article but also maybe write up a bit that explains the importance and process.

I thought the rule of thumb was to just put a TQ on whatever you have.

I can sure vouch for what, too big of a cam does on a street driven car. I had the good old DC 284/484 cam in my otherwise bone stock AAR. It sure sounded tuff at idle, but it came out of the hole like you were pulling a boat trailer behind it.

I run a 1050 on a 416 I had 750 800 850 and 950 on this motor. This was a bolt on unit out of the box. I put two size bigger air bleeds in it to lower the AFR off idle. This is foot braking the car off idle. 3650lbs. through the exhaust. By this mans info this car should be falling on its face.

I have two air fuel ratio gauges on the car so this is not off the seat of my pants. One thing I did not see mentioned in this video is square the primaries and idle off the secondaries. Very important! Theories always sound good and the man had some good info.

But I was taught by my father to believe non of what you hear and half of what you see. One cylinder out of balance with the rest with air charge for any reason throws everything off. Valve Adj., port alignment. Exhaust. etc.
