i am starting to disassemble the 340 that came in my ‘68 GTS. I have never been into a 340 before. Do these appear to be factory 1968 340 pistons? Seems like a very deep valve relief for a factory piston. They are very near “0” deck height.

Look stock to me, I would have to compare them with a set I have but I would say stock for sure

They do look stock. molding # inside skirt should read 2899479 and 2899480. The only oddity that I see is the fact that it's stamped "STD" for standard, stock standard bore pistons wasn't stamped unless this is a factory replacement part.

Early stock ones were .018" above deck at TDC. I agree on the 'STD' marking....
