with speed pro file to fit rings do the oil rings have to be filed also, because when i square them up in the bore they overlap a good amount. I told the machine shop to file my rings and the compression ring gapes look good but like i said the oil rings don't fit right.

No you don't file the oil rings. If you try squaring them in the bore they may overlap but when installed on the pistons they will be fine as long as they are the correct size. They are a tight fit.

The oil rings are tight to the expander that makes up the 3pc oil ring. They are not meant to be gapped or to fit the grooves of the piston without that expander.

It's possible to make the expander overlap, but it should "butt" ends. They use to put little plastic inserts at the ends to keep it from overlapping. Not sure if they still do.

The 2 rings/rails that go on either side of the expander should not overlap in the bore or on the expander. Otherwise, they are way oversized.
