I striped out 2 pitmanarm pullers, and my big gear puller won't budge it, I put it in a 25 ton shop press still no go,](*,) any ideals? thanks Mark
Heat expands metal, so if you heat the pitman arm is should theoretically expand, conversly, you can spray "freeze" (CFC) on the threaded portion while its in your press, prepare for a bang.
Who said it was rusted? You know he has already soaked it and wire brushed it. He owns aMOPAR so you know he`s smart,'JUST aSTUBBORN ARM PIT!!
Hitting the back side of the arm will jarr it better and you won't mess up the
puller.
whacking the bolt on the puller definitely does the trick, just watch how much you crank on it before you whack it. i liek the idea of leaving the nut on but loose. if you have a real good load on the puller when you whack it, it will fly off like a rocket.
