Now I remember a video of a ford guy removing a stuck upper control arm. He did the same thing, put all the tension he could on the ball joint seperator and beat the spindle with a 5 lb sledge. About the 5th hard blow the thing came apart. Way more beating than you think the spindle could take. Couldnt find it anymore. youll get it.
i had the same problem the other day when changing my steering box broke two pullers and heat would not get it off! so i had to cut it in half with my torch! good luck
Yes, sprayed it with pb blaster, hit it with a 5lb sledge, wire brushed it, the only thing I haven't done is use heat, because I don't want to cook the seals.
Like many others said, I'd suggest a good quality puller, and a little tighten, and a smack, a little more tighten, and a smack... Etc.
