Hey guys, Ethan (John’s son) here. First off, I’d like to say thanks to the community, as I spend a lot of time searching Pittsburghracer and reading everything that comes up anytime I feel the need to hear from him. It’s great to see how much he was eager to help those in need of guidance on here. That and it’s great to chuckle at the more ridiculous posts as well.

My brother and I have decided to have a garage sale tomorrow and Sunday from 10-4 to try and clear it out to those in need of tools, equipment, parts, etc., as we’re both living out of state, so it’s proving to be quite difficult. If you’re interested, please pm me for an E mail address

Thanks again.

PBR is legendary! Always enjoyed his posts-from the technical to the People of Walmart!!! LOL. Good luck with your sale and he is definitely missed.

Your dad was a good dude. He was always very proud of you guys. Posted pics, stories etc. when he got to see you in the later years.

He provoked me to start making my own bellhousing dowels many years ago.

if I was closer I'd love to buy some of his machine shop stuff.

Thank you Ethan for posting.

Thanks for posting Ethan. Sorry for your loss, your dad was a great guy. Lots of great content on here from him, as I'm sure you know.

John was a great guy and had a heart of gold. There was a time when I was in need of a metering block for an old 4779 carb because my dumbass drilled too deep tapping the IFR's. John sent me a PM to tell me he had one and sent it over without hesitation. Great sense of humor that man had as well.

Good luck with the sale.

d clear it out to those in need of tools, equipment, parts, etc.,
This breaks my heart hearing, as I know John wanted nothing more than his son's to make use of his life long collection and continue the racing tradition.
I hope one of you are at least keeping the cars.
If I wasn't 2500 miles away I would clear out the shop with one large check.
John was one of a kind and I miss him very much.

Ethan, I am yet another to want to tell you and your brother how much I enjoyed interacting with your Dad on here and Moparts.com. He is one of the smartest and most hilarious guys that I never got to meet in person. I am too far away and have too many commitments this weekend to participate in the garage sale, but I wish y'all well with it. Just an FYI if you have not looked around much on here....someone posted a want ad in parts wanted section looking for a set of ported PBR Speedmaster aluminum heads. Hopefully if you have some, you can contact him to buy them. I offer my condolences and wish the 2 of you well with your lives going forward. Your Dad was a good man, and a good example to follow. :)

I’ve got my Cuda that he made me promise not to make into a race car (it’s all original), but I’m taking a set of heads and an intake ported by him, as he never finished mine that I sent to him. I’d like to mention that this is absolutely not his fault, as I told him to work on his customer’s work and that there was no rush. We simply thought that he had many years ahead of him. But Matt’s the true racing son that’s carrying on his legacy in both racing as well as mapping his port work for future customers that have desired my Dads work, but didn’t get to while he was here.

Your Dad was very cool. He is missed here, and I'm very sorry for your loss.

Nobody has said it, and I just thought of it! Ethan, you and Matt are most welcome here on FABO. I'd say you are both starting through or right in the middle of the busiest times of your lives, and may not have a lot of time to fool around on Mopar websites with mostly old guys....lol. I have seen pics of your Cuda and agree with John....to nice for a race car! You guys may have lost the main source of Mopar knowledge that you figured would be around a long time, but there is TONS of that left right here if you guys ever need help. We're all just a bunch of brothers here, along with a few VERY smart sisters, we pick and bicker but it is a great crowd. Straying too far from the message of your post, but just know that you boys are welcome here.

John was a wealth of knowledge and never minded passing information along to those who asked. He gave me some tremendous ideas as to modifying my heads and intake(s) for bracket racing. I wish I was closer to attend the sale, because I'm sure there is something I would be able to use. Good luck with the sale guys and know that your father was well thought of and he is missed.

I treasure the conversations that we had sometimes
technical and sometimes personal!

Praying God's Holy Spirit to continue to be your
Comforter in your family's time of lose.

Nothing but prayers and love for you all. Just going by his actions, John was one of the very best of us here, and the world seems like a colder place without him here in it.

I miss John. I miss reading his posts, especially his cat pictures, and you never knew what you were opening up in his Walmart pictures.

Good luck with the sale Ethan.

Rest In Peace John!

Great person!

He and his expertise is very much missed on FABO.

Good luck to you all in the future.

I go back and read the Pittsburghracer posts all time. He shared a lot of valuable info in his posts. He is missed around here.

Very sorry for the loss of your father.

I usually live on FBBO, but when I came to FABO I always wanted to see John’s answers; he was always “on the mark”. Sorry for your loss.
