I bought these from a guy who upgraded to Indy SRs. They’re fully ported and look real good. I was told they had 2.14 intakes but measure bigger. Like 2.18 ??? The exhaust are 1.74s. They are fresh off motor with 50 miles on them. They need to be cleaned, couldn’t get better pics. Any idea on the intake valves ? Thanks

2.19 is a standard size for Chevy's
mostly 11/32 stem also

That doesn't look like any 516 chamber I've ever seen.

Every 516 B/RB head I've seen is closed chambered like the 915. What am I missing you guys see?

I don't see a closed chamber. It might be a bad camera angle or lighting or some such.

But on the subject of the valve sizes....I'm certain those are "supposed" to be 2.14. Not every valve manufacturer measures from the "same place".

I don’t know how there could be any argument about what heads they are.
The number is cast right into the heads.

2.14..... or 2.18.

Does it really matter?

Actually, it does.

The pics are very dark, but it appears to me as though someone took that edge where the chamber ends, and blended/feathered it to get rid of the step/edge.

I’d defer to the casting number though, instead of a few dark pics.
They are what they are.

Exactly what I was thinking. He bought 'um. Run 'um. Whatever size they are...run 'um. There does appear to be a shadow in the carbon for the closed chamber edge.

Sorry about the bad pics. They are 516’s, you can partially see 516 in the last pic.
I was just curious about 2.18, never came across it before. Also was going to use them on a .030 over 383 block. Only had 906s or aluminum in the past and not familiar with
factory closed chambers. I do not think these have that step in the chamber. I’m at work now and can’t check till the morning.
Is it possible it was ground out to increase the CC’s ?

I guess, but I sure couldn't see anybody doing it. Try to post a good picture of a chamber when you can.

As for the valve sizes, 2.14, 2.18.....splittin hairs. If they're stock 3/8 stems, they're probably supposed to be 2.14.

That is twice what they should be.

Their valve springs have also always been ridiculous. Almost like they're made out of better stuff than everybody else. They ain't.

I just priced some race valves for a ford 2.08 1.60 extra long stem, all 16 for under $200.00. Very high quality parts, the guy I deal with is a great guy and I have never been disappointed.
