What's everybody using for home porting kits.

    Likes, dislikes, PRICE!

I would like one that has the short and long mandrels but haven't found one yet. This will be for mild porting just to smooth things out a bit!

    Anybody know of one?

And buy a good carbide cutter or two , makes the early stages go faster.

Steel and aluminum take different cutters too

Yeah, I have a few cutters, but will probably get some longer ones.

I don't want to get overzealous as this is 1) a mild build and 2) I haven't the experience yet.

    Gotta start somewhere though.

I saw those but no long mandrels for the sanding rolls. I'll have to call and ask them.

I get my supplys from Falcon Tool out of Dayton Ohio. Google them to get their number. They have it ALL. carbide cutters, short and long shanks, Double cut for steel/iron and cutters for Aluminum. Mandrels for cartridge rolls. They sell cartridge rolls by the 100 lot. About $36. per 100,..good deal. You will need 60 grit and 120 grit that will cover everything you will need to do on any head or manifold. 1 inch long and 1/2 in diameter. No need for tapered rolls...you will have one after 5 minutes, a total waste of money to get those, IMHO. You will need a 6 inch and 4 inch long mandrels, a 2 inch you will use sometimes on close up (chambers) work. You will need mandrels with a 1/8 inch pilot hole and 1/4 inch shank, they are cheap so get extras,..spares are good to have. Check them out a good company to deal with. Been getting my stuff from them 25 years.
