Wife punched the holes for me and put in a binder I got at the thrift store for a quarter. :)
I still have to mark the chapters with some masking tape tabs.
I don't know about you, but I sure as hell like a book I can look at right next to me when I'm working on something and make notes on, rather than a PDF I have to look at on my phone or PC.

They dang near give you the printer and rip your head off on the ink to make up for it. When I was on the tool truck, I would print out my route sheets for the next week. 50-75 sheets a week. I bought a lazer printer. It was really fast and a cartridge of toner lasted 6-8 months.

Replying to you guys who are talking about ink..
Being a Sr. Network Admin has it's perks sometimes. I got a color laser, duplexing (prints both sides) from work. It was out of warranty, and out of contract from our vendor. They didn't even want to send a truck to get it. It was from an office we closed.. had no place to put it. We wouldn't anyway as it was out of contract.. I don't fix printers, lol.
Was gonna go in the dumpster.. I took it. One of my admins found a box full of toners for it a week later.. no other printers we have use those.
Still has a warning light for something.. don't give a crap, it still prints. The lights dim when I turn it on though.. don't fire it up often, lol.

I have digital copies of the factory service manuals for all my cars. I like to just print appropriate sections as I need them. That way, I can mark them up, get grease and grime on them, and then just recycle when done.

When I had the factory service manual for my 1960 elcamino its binding kind of fell apart. I bought a 3" 3 ring binder, and a bunch of sheet protectors. I put every page in a sheet protector. This way I could handle the pages with dirty hands with em inside clear plastic and wipe the pkadyic off protecting the paper pages. Will be doing the same with 67 and 69 cuda books.

laser printer is the way to go!
I haven't looked at color laser printers - they were still pricey when I last was looking for color.
But for black and white and grays scale, some of the HPs are cheap to print with.
I use a laserjet P1102w for everything but ledger size printing and color printing. Printer itself is pretty small.
(If you plan on alot of double sided printing, get a model that actually does that without manually feeding it back in)

Kinda surprised nobody commented on the colo-guard kit, lol. Didn't realize that's the box I had that on.
Doc gave me a choice.. bunch of stuff shoved up my .. ahem, colon... or crap on a piece of paper.
Kid came home and asked what I got, so I had to explain. "I get to shit on some paper, and mail it to someone!"
Wait wait wait! he said... so some doctor guy gets to shove stuff up your...?
Relax boy, you're good till you're 45 or so.

Apparently, you're not supposed to ask the doctor if she enjoyed the view after one of those procedures

I've printed out 2 copies of that manual. It's almost 1,000 pages per copy. I then (and still am) did as @moparmat2000 said and put all the pages in page protectors, for easy cleaning after handling. Matt got to see them when him and his son, Patrick, stopped by for a visit last year. With the page protectors, I had to use 2 binders per copy. So I divided it and put on the spine which sections Book 1 & 2 had in them. I then put in numbered cardstock chapter dividers.

I did the same with the '69 Barracuda collision manual that shows the original body parts numbers, labor time, where whole assemblies were replaced if any damage, etc. Those came in a medium yellow color, so I duplicated with yellow cardstock.

Next, I got the '69 Barracuda full wiring diagram. I'm working on getting those laminated, but they are larger (legal page size) and I'm trying to do it so they will still fold in the middle, or line up the pages perfectly, copy and then laminate. Figured if they were laminated, you could use grease pencils to follow wires throughout the system.

I have only been able to find the Barracuda only repair manual in book form, but hate to buy one and try to take it apart to do the same. The 1969 Plymouth service Manual covers all models, which is why it's 1K pages.

Yeah, it a little time consuming and expensive, but I want a good set of references when I get back to working on my currently stalled '69 340 Formula S FB.

Next I get to do the same for my '72 Fury III, should be fun (sarcasm strictly intended).

laser printer at work. I bring the paper and print it on my lunch half hour over a hot dog and a big gulp. prints about a page every 3 seconds.

Sounds like RSie could make a nice line of side work printing FSMs to sale to us here...
How much for a ‘71 Plymouth FSM?

I got a old Direct Connection bible I bought new in the early 80's. It fell out of the binding years ago and the wife punched the holes and put it in a binder. To this day I still like looking through the greasy, scribbled on pages, brings back many memories of a simpler time.

I print my manuals too. One thing I did with the wiring schematic for my Duster was to make a scroll. It makes it super easy to follow the wires from end to end. With this there is nothing I'm scared to tackle on my car's wiring!

                                              Is that FSM available?
If I did another one, I'd get pre-punched paper.
I wonder if wal-mart or office max would print these, or if they'd give you a hard time because of copyright stuff.

If you did that on one of my printers at work, you'd be in the HR office, lol.
