What do you guys think of this 74 duster that I’ve been working on resurrecting?
Looks like a replica of the mopar missile or the Sox and Martin duster. Supposedly was pushing 650 hp and running 9s in the quarter back when it was built. Has a 340 tunnel ram with 2 Holley 650s, and a Vertex Magneto. All hooked up to a 4 speed and a Dana 60 with 4.10s. Let me know what you think! Got the engine running but she’s got a ton of valve blow by, looking to rebuild this winter and hopefully only need new rings. (This is my first project so I appreciate any pointers, and yes the quarters have more bondo than anything I have ever seen in my life)

Don Carlton did have a 340 test car...and I don't think that body was sectioned like his Hemi one

What are those rear wheels,? are they magnesium ?
Very cool,

Make sure the lights and brakes work then plate it and cruise the main.
Neat car.
Interior pictures?
Actually wired the car from scratch so that I knew all the lights worked! I’ll try and get some interior pictures in it’s pretty bare, had to rip out all of the puffy purple velvet filled with mouse nests. Has a super funny tiny steering wheel and had about 40 switches in it.

I bought that car in 1979, while in high school. I terrorized the streets with it. Loved it. 1974 360 4 speed. Memories......

The 340 test car was a yellow Dart Sport and the rest were Hemi's. Don Carlton's own car was a Demon. He also ran a Dart Sport in B/G and match races. This is an interesting car but I doubt it was an actual P/S. Would make a cool clone/tribute if done right.

cool ride.....your car looks closer to the M/P California Flash. I don't think yours is it though, I know where the Flash is.

For those that remember (you can get a pill for that now) ..... no new Dusters in 1974, it was the year Chrysler boycotted NHRA, I do not think there were any factory / big name Pro Stock Dusters built after 1973. In 1975, Chrysler backed Butch Leal in the Direct Connection sponsored M/P Hemi Duster. All steel car, only fiberglass is the hood scoop. Some small tricks, but nothing close to the 4-link, tube chassis, aluminum interior, Lenco transmission, slightly altered wheelbase Pro Stock cars constructed thru 1973.
