After a much heated discussion yesterday I said something I'd like to apologize for. In one of the threads yesterday caferacerx had this say:

"when I had my 66 mustang it seemed that all the ford guys got along, didnt matter if you had a galaxy 500 of an F-150, I wounder if the chevy people have this much infighting do the vett owners look down on the camaro owners who in turn hate the chevell guys, or is this just a mopar thing?"

To which I responded:

"From what I'm seeing it's a Mopar thing."

I want to apologize for saying this.

I've been a member here for some time. I've come to know many of you through email, PM, phone calls, and meeting face-to-face. When I said this comment I was angry, but realize that from positive responses that I've gotten from my current build there are many of you who are interested in Mopars in general and interested in me, mainly, as a friend and acquaintance.

From the PM's I get asking for updates on my build and those who call or PM me asking me how I'm doing in general I would say that the Mopar community is, by and large, the great community that I've always thought it to be. Not many folks go out their way to ask a person he's never met how his parents are doing. I have folks on here who do that with me. Not many folks go out there way to help others they've never met with financial difficulties or help with parts. Folks on here do that. Not many folks go out their way to help young builders coming into the hobby. Folks on here do that.

Thank you for reading this.

YOU MAKE ME SICK! lol hey man let the past be the past we all have bad days dont let it get to you :) :) :)

Boy you dont know how close you came to me banning you to 30 yrs in the electric chair. Dont ever do it again. Jerkin with ya Robert. We all have bad days....except me. I have bad years.

even when I try and stay out of trouble I cant stay out of trouble
didnt mean to piss you off, I think your answer was an honest observation to the question I asked based on the situation and the way you felt at the time, and for that no one should need to apologies, the real question isn't "do mopar people engage in infighting more than ford or chevey people", perhaps, perhaps not, the real question is "shouldn't we do it less?"

To clarify this, racer, it wasn't you who ticked me off. It was everything surrounding the lead up to you asking this.

I think no matter where you go people are people. There are the good ones, the bad ones, and the in- between. I think most of us fall in the in-between category. With a membership as big as ours there is bound to be a little in fighting. **** happens!! Ya gotta try and wear a thick skin and move on. JMO!

I don't think that it's a Mopar thing, a Ford thing or even a Daewoo thing; it's a web thing, people have no problem typing things under cover of web anonymity that they would never say face to face. I know I've been guilty of it from time to time. I believe that we should all try to remember what brought us to this site in the first place; a shared interest in Mopars and leave the trash-talking to the news media.

You have nothing to apologize for because it mainly is a Mopar thing. Whens the last time your were over on Mofarts? Not only on line but in real life like at car shows just mention 4 doors or slant six or valiant and look at the face of most hemi or E-body owners.

Don't see any thing bad about that at all. You were just saying it like you see it. Nothing wrong about voicing your opinion.

If you want my opinion, I'm with 360scamp.

Every time I'm out driving and I pass another brand of classic car I wave and then observe the reaction of the owner and note they're car of choice. Heres my general findings... Corvette and Viper guys never wave... Camaro and Chevelle guys never wave... Mustang guys never wave... Mopar guys always wave, except the above mentioned Viper owners... Ford guys will wave, except Mustang owners... Street Rod guys will wave....
Just my observation...
No offence taken there Robert, and I'm a Mopar guy!!!LOL!!!

I think a lot of mopar guys have a complex from being the odd man out with the chevy guys talking trash and yrs of mainstream bias towards mopar....

I say it's part of the game...to hate on the competition.lol

there are a lot of stuck up mopar jerksticks out there though..

The best part about an apology is the guy on the other end that accepts it gracefully and moves on with understanding.

At least he did not call you a racist for no reason, fly off the handle, drag his Granddaughter into it unnecessarily and not respond to your PM and hold a grudge like a little baby.

This clip will chear everyone up. It's where Curly shoots his oyster stew.:-D. MMG

Of course I may not be the best person to listen to because the one car I would trade my wife and BOTH dogs for is a Tucker and ever since I was 12 I said that if I ever got my hands on an original one (not one of those fiberglass piles) I would customize the hell out of it! Then show up at a Tucker meet with it :snakeman:

When do you want to make the trade?:-D

LOL, you have one just collecting dust in your garage? I'll take it!
Nikki makes a mean grilled cheese sammich at 3am after a long night of boozing but she can get pretty mean sometimes and she goes right for all the "hurty areas" as she calls them. As for the heelers...they are insane and hate Ross for some reason but I am up for the trade! LOL

LMAO, dude you crack me up.

Wish I had one collecting dust but I did buy and sell a radio for a Tucker that I got at Rogers Ohio flea market.

I sold it week later for twice what I paid, ha, ha.

There was a family there that had three Tuckers at one point and was selling some oddball parts from them, I know looking back I still wonder why the hell they would part them out.

Robert, If I apologized for everything I did or said that were as nice as you said it........I'd be really busy apologizing!!!!!!!!

No worries here and your posts are always polite. You got hammered pretty hard in that thread. The FABO board has gotten really busy lately and I think we're just having some growing pains.

Keep up the great work!!
