Pic is of my motor before the rebuild. When I bought car the 383 was running pulleys like this...not touching but overlapping a fair bit....is this normal? Acceptable as long as belt somewhat true?

not normal... can you read the pulley numbers and provide?

Do the pulley groves line up correctly, they should be fairly close. The farther the pulleys are apart, the larger the misalignment can be.

If the pulleys are original mopar, the pulleys will have a number on the inside lip like 3692805.

It looks like the WP pulley is off a good 1/8 inch from the second groove. I am not buying that is correct.

It's hard for me to tell in the pic. Eyes aren't what they used to be. There is a setup where the p/w pulley sits behind the outer groove of the crank pulley like that but should line up.

It is ever slightly off.
Not sure enough to cause issues?
Thats why I asked because there is too many things off...pulley's overlapping, slightly off aligmnent, harmonic balancer holes do not line up with pulley...that being said, it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of guys run them the same way...thats why I am inquiring.

I'm thinking that is not a matched set - something got changed. Factory alignment was always spot-on.

Looks like a mismatched set, could be a combination of SB and BB parts or different years. If the bolt holes don't line up that is a clue that you have parts from different years since they changed the bolt pattern along the way. You can find the correct parts without looking to hard but they do sometimes cost more than expected.

I have had many big blocks and the pulleys always lined up perfectly. If u need a pulley I may have it as I have a few sets and some singles. Kim

Not normal. I've got my son's pulleys here (440, no AC). I'll pull them out tomorrow and take a look.
