I bought this trans from a guy who knew nothing about it. I pulled the pan and it looks freshly rebuilt but there is no kickdown lever. The VB has no engravings but is a Mopar VB with the part number 3410435. Has anyone ever seen this before?

I am not sure Steve. I didn’t take the VB out as the unit looks clean enough to gamble on just running it as is.

I am pretty sure this shift lever rides in the spool valve, you may not be going anywhere.

I’m pretty sure it does too. I can fix that real quick.

Tell me how you're going to fix that manual valve, "real quick"...Drop vb, remove e-clip, raise lever to insert into valve; reverse procedure?

Correct. The trans is on my work bench not in a vehicle. Not too much to it.....

So the issue was the washer and clip was not on the end of the kick down shaft where it comes up through the case. I took the pan off and moved the selector paw under the rod where it is supposed to be and then installed the washer and clip like it’s supposed to be to hold everything together. Total time literally 5 minutes. VB didn’t need to come out.

Excellent. I was wondering if there was enough room for the rooster comb to move upwards to allow the spool valve to be re-engaged. But how did you manage to keep the comb from moving too far up and releasing the ball and spring?
