Questions about buying a car from Mexico

Hey guys this is a new question even for me.
I found an old 56 plymouth in Mexico. The car is decent and the price is right.

What would I need to bring the car back the the states? I live in San Diego County so it' not far to go.

Anyone ever done this?

I'd start by phoning the CA DMV. Yeh. I know that will be "time consuming."
