Good bye, old friend.

Probably the sweetest piece of audio gear I've ever owned, just sold to a fellow Audiophile in Colorado.

I still have my Kenwood KR-9600 I bought in the base stereo store in Okinawa in 1977. It still kicks ***. I'm still using the 4 KL-777S speakers, too I'll take some pictures.

I have an old Sansui receiver from the same era with a similar story (I forget the model, and I'm work right now.). Allegedly it was recapped before I got it, and I did it again right before Covid, but now it needs a more thorough once over (pots cleaned, lights replaced, tuner needs aligning, etc). Looks damn near mint, and except for the scratchy volume and balance pots, it can still kick some ***!

And I look at it like these old cars: It's worth rebuilding!

This is a Chrysler Hemi 245 engine, a straight-six engine produced by Chrysler Australia under the Valiant Pacer branding. Unlike the more famous American Hemi V8s, this engine features a hemispherical combustion chamber in a six-cylinder layout, which improved airflow and efficiency. It was used in performance-oriented versions of the Chrysler Valiant, particularly in the Pacer models of the late 1960s and 1970s.
The 245 Hemi Six was known for its strong torque and reliability, making it a favorite among Australian muscle car enthusiasts. Some high-performance versions, like the E49 Charger, featured triple Weber carburetors and produced over 300 horsepower, making them some of the most powerful six-cylinder engines of their time.

For your consideration  :):) ..

That’s some nice vintage gear, and a lot of Sansui! Nice!

I’m in the midst of selling off what’s left of my last “separates” system: Sonic Frontiers preamp, Antique Audio Labs amps, and right this minute I’m waiting on a guy to pickup some ADS speakers.

In the past I’ve spent “cubic dollars” on some pieces, but a friend of mine (Dean) on Audio Asylum taught me: “It’s going to be used when I sell it, so it may was well be used when I buy it.”

Not getting rid of any of my TT’s or vinyl, though!
