Rare 1971 Demons.

well I guess I cant join the club, I just peeled the side molding off my 72! I do like the 71 hub caps, but ill probably go with dog dish caps. The hood scoop is still on the yes or no list.

I don't remember ever seeing a Petty Blue Demon. That's gotta be rare. Most Demons I've seen are green, black, orange, or red. But its probably safe to assume that most of the black ones and red ones were probably originally green.

Gosh that Demon looks terrific in white! Don't see many of those - I really like that white/black combo.
Thank you so much and I agree. I paid the most $$$ I’ve ever paid for a roller, but I just had to have it. I’ve got a 340 for it and a few little upgrades before it hits the road.

There was a guy near me that had one. It was a '72 Slant Six car. He recently passed away and I'm pretty sure the family just crushed everything.

This thread is old as hell but I've been for the body side molding for my '72 Swinger forever. Of course, one piece is missing. I'd love to find the whole set.

In 1980 I looked at an orange with orange and black interior. 340 auto. Wanted 1000 American
Went back with my dad. It had to have parking brakes on as did roll in park. Car was spotless. My dad said don't give over 800 since auto trans could be big dollars to fix.
Passed on a 72 white 318 car with scooped hood. Black interior was bought new I knew the owner.

If variety is the spice of life then why are you all jumping over each other to be just like each other? The company that makes the repro hood scoops is laughing all the way to the bank.

A quick one minute online search pops up 134 Demons, only 15 with flat hoods..... So ya, you guys sure are being different.... Bahahahahahahaaaaa

Not on my account they’re not laughing to the bank. My current scoops are re-pops but I bought them used anyway. But the sets I bought for my Darts are actually originals, so, I’m pissing off the purists on every level possible. Taking original, factory hood scoops and putting them on cars not optioned for them!

Like buying up good quality original Demon tail lights and putting them on a ‘74 slant 6 Duster. Oh! Nice original ‘71 Dart grilles too! I even have the hard to find stainless belt trim to go on the door tops and around the quarter windows. 2 sets.

Don’t worry, my car has a 340 in it too!

Oh is that why you’re mad? Your car has original hood scoops doesn’t it? And it pisses you off that the riff-raff adds hood scoops to their /6 cars?

I hope that’s not it, just enjoy your car and let people enjoy theirs. That whole collector/investor/purist thing where people crap on other people’s cars just because of a few stamped numbers is dumb as hell.

Here's a Petty blue Demon 340 (flat hood car!) that belongs to one of our friends. She and her husband bought it brand new in 1972! Although he passed away (coming home from Carlisle no less many years back), she kept the car as original as possible in a restoration and it goes to shows somewhat regularly. It's a great-looking car!

Pic is from this past weekend's Garlits show. We parked her car and our 71 Demon 340 next to each other and snapped this pic after most cars had left. Say hi to "Mr. Blue!"

That’s a clean looking Demon!

Here's another hood I drilled, and cut holes in! Lol. 1971 Dart Swinger, original slant 6 auto car. Now has twin scoops, 8 3/4 rear, and converting to manual trans. Will have a 360 magnum engine with A833 OD 4 spd.
