Rb 4.15 stroke to a b block

-
I had it done by a friend of mine at his machine shop many years ago. I think he charged me 200.00.

I have a rb 500/ 440 stroker kit.I was thinking about turning the 4.15 crankshaft to fit the 400 b block 2.625

If h.p. is on tap, I`d do the crank thing, ur block will be stronger uncut !!

Yes, I've got two, as well as one 4.5" crank cut to 2.625" Check the overall counterweight diameter, but otherwise no issues. The BBM rod journal size doesn't clear the oil pickup IME, might have just been the rods I was using. S/F....Ken M

I’m guessing you realize you’ll have to use a shorter piston/rod combo

I don't see a problem doing that. After all, they have been cutting 3.75 stroke cranks to the 2.625 size for years, to build the 451. Might check with 440 source first, they are quite helpful.
