I just purchased a 65 Plymouth Valiant Convertible Signet this past Saturday! It's in pretty good shape for 55 years old but I will want to make improvements (that's where ya'll come in). It has a 273 v8 paired to a Torque flite automatic floor shift transmission. I'm gonna have my mechanic go through it for immediate concerns but, living in San Antonio,Texas, vintage air will be the first big upgrade. Suggestions and input are very welcome! received_926696414473648 (1).jpeg

Wow! What a great looking car. You will find this sight a treasure trove of knowledge. While often opinionated it is never in malice, just folks passionate about their beliefs. Everything from race junkies to concourse restorations. Great sight. Welcome aboard.

Looking good! I purchased the same year, make, and model about 10 years ago. My first '65 Valiant (four-door) was my first car, back circa 1973.

You are installing it yourself? I'm not skilled enough to try it so I guess I'll bite the bullet and have someone do it. Are you using vintage air?

You can do it. It’s not as bad as you might think. It will cost you another $1400 or more to get someone to do it. That was a big motivation for me. I did Classic Air because a direct bolt in sort of. If you can turn a screwdriver and know lefty loosy righty tighty you can do it.

I don’t know the difference in the early Abodies how the firewall is and how the system is set up. Vintage may be a better way to go. Is yours an AC car. I’m guessing it is not.

Welcome from another Texan, maybe if they have the car show & swap meet in San Antonio some of us can meet up. I'll be in the swap meet area as I don't have a street car.

Due to the corona crap, it hasn't been scheduled that I know of. The Mopar Mini Nationals in Rockwall has been scheduled for Sept 5th & they are taking preregistration now.
