Someone with the spare cash that doesn't want to bother with any kind of resto work may bite...I'd pay $6-7k no more.

Just make sure you don't "low ball" him :D! The GM colored engine bay must add some serious value to that car...lol.

I would hate to spend 10k on that car but I see people on here buy 3k-5k cars that need 10k in rust repair alone. What's the better deal? I just don't know anymore.

It's like my car. I want 20k for it but people would rather pay 8k for a lessor car and spend another 20k over the next 4 years replacing sheet metal and finding original parts.

That's a good point. Rust repair hits the wallet hard. I guess I have to give a deal like this a second thought. I guess I'm still back when a rust free car sold for less then a grand.

Not a bad looking car, but the engine bay is a big turn off for me!! Don't lowball him??? Does he really know what a Dart is going for or is he just shooting into the barrel??

Overpriced, for sure! At least in my opinion. I'd say a slant car (if it is rock solid) would be about 6k. But, it is a nice looking car.....

6 cyl cars are coming up in value, but not with 144k miles. GM black is really a poor decision as well. I agree it's expensive to restore a car,but a /6 car doesn't know it's not a 340 or 440 or whatever. Metal is metal.

70 dash, 72 side markers, 70? Grill....something isn't right with this car, cracked dash, top of rear seat covered (probably split open from sun), looks to me like bubbles under the vinyl roof, painted engine bay hiding what? He us on crack. If it really were a survivor perhaps $10000 but looks to me more like $3500 to $4500. I am guessing it is a re bodied car with a 70 VIN.

Yep, that thing is a MESS.

Just a guess, the roof is likely rotted seeing the vinyl all frayed up. C pillars are REALLY bad for rot on those cars as well.

The pass side inner fender would tell you what year the body really is unless it got swapped out. Along with the yoke or trunk lip numbers.

Its great to have straight forward, no BS second opinions. A guy like me gets way too excited when looking at a car I'd like and over look really obvious issues....

I agree, this car isn't $10k nice, too much wrong. I've seen MUCH nicer cars for less money.
As mentioned above, I would rather spend $10k for a truly nice car than try to fix a $2k rust bucket, but this isn't that $10k car.....

Man I have to say-- you guys are great when it comes to finding questionably priced cars-- The amount of info given on such a poor attempt tot sell a car-- is fantastic!!

I agree the engine compartment is bad - Hopefully you guys saved someone a heartache down the road.

I guess I didn't look at it long enough to notice all the mismatched parts. Someone should check the body stampings and see how they compare to the vin?

That's funny, I'm talking to this guy about this dart. Seeing how much he'll come down on price, cause according to him "it must go" .... From the outside it's all a '71, look at the grill and the flush marker lights. I decoded the fender tag, according to that the car is a '72, with fender mounted turn signal, green vinyl top, green interior. the title, fender tag and dash plate all match ! http://norfolk.craigslist.org/cto/4472841213.html
