What have you guys found to be the best molded carpet for a 4 speed 68 Dart. I have a Gary Ball supplied carpet and it is trash. Non molded, garbage quality, and not well fitted to floor contours. So on the search for a quality molded carpet for the Dart. Extended for rear seat delete would be a huge plus. Thanks in advance.

I used ACC in my 68. Actually found the best price on rock auto oddly enough.. sometimes they have the best price even with the shipping… sometimes not.

I used one brand in my Duster which fit horrible so used ACC in my Dart which was better.

Sad but the carpet he supplied was ACC. Basically came as a 6 ft piece of carpet with no molding in rear. Front was salvageable with some slicing and dicing but fit was mediocre at best. Rear was non fitting without major sectioning. No molded step up where rear seat would have been. This goes into a rear seat delete car so needs to lay correctly. Frustrating at best. Looking at a Stock interiors.com carpet set. Any experience with those folks product? Thanks for the replies.

Even though my ACC was rolled up for 15 years it still fit pretty well once it settled in. You have to do some flattening with heat and weight but that is pretty normal.

I've never had an ACC carpet that wasn't molded, or molded correctly, on different makes/models.
Was it in an ACC box, and/or shipped from them?

Yup, there was a time when ACC was cutting the "excess" a little tight, so it barely reached the sill plates... But their carpet has always been molded to fit the contours pretty well.... Let it lay out flat in the sun for a few days before trying to install it

I saw where a guy was using the tube waterbed things to weight it down
put the tubes in for like a week, then seated it all
the tubes conforned to the floor
(I'd be terrified I'd rip one open, lol)

Genius idea! I used thick foam pads with a piece of plywood with heavy flywheels or batteries on top. And then I put a gas stove propane burner under the floor to heat the sheetmetal up and soften the carpet backing.

With the OER carpet I had to glue some sections down. Its pretty hard to use heat when there is a felt backing. I also had to pie cut a piece out at the tunnel. If I have to rip it up its not going back in.

Yes, came in ACC box. Rear section was a 6 foot square piece of carpet. No molding. Front section didn't fit around 4 speed hump without sectioning. I will make it work if needed but not happy with the fit.

Probably should do that before bad mouthing him. The carpet was drop shipped directly from ACC. Like I said, I can make it work, but it will take a lot of massaging to do so. It's been a long road but end is in sight for the Dart. Tell you true, this project has fought me ever step of the way, so this carpet issue is not suprising! Thanks for your replies. Appreciated.

I just ordered ACC carpet from OC interior have original 72 duster 340 barn find. Car had Original carpet as it had a build sheet also under carpet. I ordered from OC interior when I received the carpet the heal pad is upside down and in incorrect position from original. And honestly I think ACC is installing all heal pads upside down. Moving on, so I called to report it to OC that heal is upside down and not in correct placement. She (agent) took my claim to ACC with my pictures of original. After further review they sent me a return label wanted front carpet along with my original carpet. They made all the necessary changes sent everything back along with an additional rear carpet piece. They do have great customer service so if something is not correct maybe call them and explain it. You’ll see in pictures before and after of heal pad.

Looks good. I will see what I can do on Monday. Thanks for sharing your experience.

About even with the back of the seat hook my guess, I had to cut out a small chunk to go around it.
