Got word today my new hood will be going through the final stages of assembly at glasstek beginning of next week and should be ready to ship to me by next weekend.

Also got word my short block should be done at Magnum Machine tomorrow too. Which is good news for me because that means I should have it back in, all the parts back on and motor plate installed by this weekend.

Going to measure the steering shaft in the morning and try to get it welded up before this weekend as well.

Alot of stuff moving but cant wait get her dropped off to chassis next weekend.

Got this bad boy picked up today.

Fully forged short block is done being assembled. 6.0L That's been bored .030 over. Summit Pro LS pistons and rods, king main and cam bearings, summit pro stage iv turbo cam, billet single timing chain setup.

I also received my new fuel pressure regulator with 8an feed, outlet and 6 an return. Also got my 100 micron fuel filter as well.

Wow you move fast, slow down you’re making the rest of us that let our junk sit for weeks on end look bad. Kidding really looks like you’re making good progress.

Its winter time man. You have to move fast if you want things done for summer. With me taking her to chassis the 29th, I have to have her ready to go.

If the motor and fuel stuff wasnt enough, i ordered the chassis engineering stage 2 ladder bar setup for out back as well. Comes with 150lb springs for the strange coilovers. Also ordered my US Car tool torque boxes and my anti roll bar kit from Quarter max shipped out as well.

I got my new steering shaft tacked up and mocked up to make sure my measurements were right too. Time to finish weld and paint then reinstall. Glad I can turn now.

Well yesterday I got a little but done. Mocked up the motor plate on the motor, and set the manifolds in place to see what needed to be cut out. Marked what needed to be done and took it to my buddy Cole's who broke out the plasma cutter and took care of the cuts for me.

Today's goals will be to take care of the oil pump, camshaft, timing set, timing cover, rear main cover and oil plunger, crank pulley, and oil pan. Then set here back in place and get her back together with the bellhousing.

Alot to do but it's the majority of what I need to get done to get her ready to go to chassis on the 29th.

Well today the weather was perfect for an all day engine building session in the driveway.

Got everything done I was looking to get done thankfully. Few more things to do like trim the height on the motor plate, add the headers and clear out the back seats and carpet and she will be ready for chassis drop off Saturday.

Looks great, nice quick progress you're making. I think i'll be heading in a similar engine direction as you so I'll be watching your progress.

Got the motor plate trimmed properly. So now the height is set right. I like it alot more now.

Also received my rear suspension goodies today. My US Car tool front and rear torque boxes will be here tomorrow. And then I'm taking her to chassi this weekend.

Also shared a few pictures of the kind of room I have in there with with the Tory Shellehamer k member and rear sump ls1 pan. No crazy depth pan either.

neil.
ps top work so far

It's being dropped off to chassis this Saturday. Roll cage will be brought forward and tied into the shock towers.

Due to a issue at work I've had to put chassis drop off on hold for right now. But in the mean time I'm going to adjust the front suspension a little bit and hook everything back up and get this new motor running.

The new turbos will be here Monday...twin 69mm's

Glasstek hood should be done next week and hopefully here next weekend.

It all goes well I'll be at chassis in a week or two.

Since my last post I've landed a new job making better money then my last. So I've rescheduled the dart for drop off to chassis next weekend the 14th.

Since then I've recut a new firewall pass through for my main engine harness to come through and mounted itnto the firewall and sealed it up with some e6000. Cleaned up some of the cuts on the fenderwell so I can quit accidentally cutting myself between now and dropoff.

I got both cylinder heads on the motor now, torqued down with the new set of arp bolts. The texas speed pushrods, and btr trunion upgraded rockers back in place and torqued down. New valve cover gaskets on there and torqued down.

I'm not an alignment guy hy any means but I didnt like the angle of the wheels, so I pulled the uppers loose and adjusted them out a little bit and have them sitting alot better until it gets to the alignment rack.

Got to talk to glasstek yesterday and verify the final position of the scoop. So hopefully it's done tomorrow and packed up to head this way.

I got my turbos in the mail as well. Cant wait to get them mocked up.

Forgot to post the engine bay now. I also drilled and mounted the low mount alternator. Primed the pump and filled her up with oil.

Good news today.

Glasstek finished my hood today. Shipping out. Cant wait.

Got the gaskets on the intake, got it set in place, map sensor mounted on the back and my 2 vacuum ports installed as well. Realised i would need a separate adapter to run these short ls3 style injectors, so I'm going to go tomorrow and swap em out for a set for the taller ones and hopefully get the rail buttoned down and the fuel system hooked backup. Inching closer to having it fired up and ready to go to chassis next weekend.

Got a little more done today
Belt tensioner mounted, new idler pulley mounted on the alternator bracket. Torqued the arp crank bolt down finally. Got the new serp belt on as well.

Tried mocking up the old turn downs to see if they were reusable. However, the much larger frames on these t4s doesnt allow it. So we will be reworking those. Got the torque converter bolted up to the flexplate and starter as well.

Figured out the fuel injector spacing issue and got them in the rails and tightened down.

More progress, still figuring out the updated fuel system. But looking to hook up the old one to fire the motor up tomorrow or saturday.

Got the coil pack setups remounted, wires hooked back up, along the wiring routed and tucked away. Alot more visible now so has to be even cleaner than before. Coil pack mounting may change and wires will most likely be shortened once chassis and all is done to makenit cleaner and more organized. Didnt wanna put too much in his way.

Got all my grounds foe the harness reconnected as well, radiator and hoses installed. Just have to reconnect fuel, reconnect battery connections, and go pickup the oil dipstick and tube and shes ready to fire.

The new hood will be here Monday along with some hood pins to help hold it down. Tomorrow the new turn down vband mounts will be here for the turbos as well. Cant wait to hear it fire up.

The turndowns for the turbos came in today, so I got them mocked up and test fitted. I got the stock hood removed in preparation for the new hood and pins showing up tomorrow. Also had to test out pictures and video on the new gopro.

Forgive the photo dump, but I love this hood. Nice thick material. High point placed perfectly just like I asked. Very happy with Glasstek start to finish.

Hows the clearance when the hood goes up....or is it a lift off?. You are single handed keeping the aftermarkets in the black.

Looking good!

I got it made as a bolt on because I feared getting a thinner hood if i ordered "raceweight". However it will be pinned on and lifted off. Since i drive it on the street and around to shows I wanted the thicker one.

I haven't spent a ton of money on things, especially considering what other people spend on their Mopar's. But this being my final set of changes I want it a certain way so im not settling on things on my final overhaul.
