Referrals??

I was looking at my profile and I noticed this "Referrals:0" What is this for and is it good to have no referrals or is it good to have many referrals. I work/volunteer at my kids elementary school and there if you get a referral it is a trip to see the pricipal and that is not a good thing. Just wondering.

When you sign up theres a spot to put a members name if. So if you tell some one to join the board, they sign up and put your user name as the referral the it shows up in your profile.
