Did you by chance exceed the recommended torque specs?

Reason I ask is they seem to be specific about their torque specs. They arent steel shim style, so they dont want you to over tighten them and squish the seal. Some of their specs seem to be head scratching with as low as they are.

Could be a head or flange warp issue. I always cut the flange between the front and rear ports so each tube (or both in the middle) are independent of the others.

I agree, either somethin's not flat, somethin's not torqued correctly, or both. I have the Remflex exhaust gaskets on my slant 6 and I must admit, I didn't read any instructions, I just tightened the PISS out of everything, but I've not had one problem and it's been together over a year.

My only complaint with Remflex is they are not reusable. They tear up on disassembly. That said, they seal like a mofo.

Pull the header out of the car, drag a file across each port flange keeping it parallel to the flange...

#7 is probably going to need some reworking, if theres a definite gap you might need to run a weld bead to build up the ridge around the port.... Build it up & grind/file it back till the defined ridge is straight & flat....

As Toolman Mike mentioned cut the flanges between the ports

There are several gaskets for the LA and B/RB, are you using the correct one for your heads?

Use the felpro header gaskets. Jmo
Edelbrocks are decent for a couple years too. Remember the days when the gaskets held for a decade?

On V8s I've always used the stock exhaust manifold gaskets with metal on one side and never, ever had one leak. Ever.

                  I'm leaning towards a "straight/flatness " issue.
