What you guys suggest to remove old overspray paint on wire?
I don't want to used the wrong product and melt the plastic sleeve.
My steering wheel wiring need to be cleaned...they arwe blue blue :(

I have used mineral spirits and a cotton sock. Some depends on the paint type. Lacquer thinner or acetone may work to. Best to use rubber gloves. Test and see it paint colors sock, as you pinch sock around wires and pull. If you get wire insulation color try something else.

should have thaugh of this...I used so many can back in the days when I had time to build scale model
I'll give it a try

Castrol super clean works good on removing overspray on vinyl.
I've done it a few times now and i was surprised on how well it worked when i first tried it, and no residue or discoloration.

Gojo hand soap & steel wool. The gojo helps loosen the paint & lubricates the steel wool so it doesn't gouge the insulation too much. Wipe it off when you're done, it'll look like new. Works good on ignition wires too.
