    Good afternoon,

I'd like to replace my 15" American Racing Torq rims with reproduction factory steel wheels and dog dish hub caps.

My questions are, what is the easiest size to put on? 14's? My Dart is a 67. Is the wheel pattern 4 1/2?

What were the stock rim sizes for the GTS?

Anyone know of a source for repro steel wheels?

    Thanks,

    Doug

The first thing you need to do is determine what bolt pattern you have now, on your car. 5 on 4" is stock, since you have torque thrusts on it now, I'm guessing someone changed it to the much more common 5 on 4 1/2"
Till you know what you have, you cant even begin to shop.
(You might have to take a front and rear wheel off for this next step, you will need to check front and rear.). Hook a tape measure on one stud, and measure to the canter of a stud two away. That will be your bolt circle. We can then go from there.

Our bolt circles are 4'' or 4.5'' let's not reinvent the wheel. This was just a quick check to determine the op's. Karens

My advice is to avoid aftermarket.. they are hard to find caps that stay on and fit..

If possible find some OE wheels,

I didn't have time to pull the wheel off yet, but did measure and they're 4.5. The problem is that it looks like there might be spacers and I suspect adapters yo go from 4 to 4.5. I'll know for sure when I pull them, but looking at it now, it seems like the wheels sit too far out. I definitely am gonna want to get rid of these things. Stock is always best. I do like the look of 15's in the wheel well, but may try to find 14's which would be a bit more correct wouldn't they?

      Thanks

I think the stock wheels would have been 14x5 or 5.5. Someone here will know for sure. If you want 14s, you will have to hunt them, nobody in the aftermarket does 14s. Aftermarket 15s are available with 6,7, and 8" widths. Summit has a decent selection, just search the wheel section, specify 5 on 4" bolt circle. But you MUST check what they say the have in stock, or not available, or backorder.
There is another company besides wheel vintiques (summit), i think u.s wheel, or us mag, that also do 15" steelies for 5 on 4.

all the repops for sbp rallyes are 6 inch too - does anybody have a 5.5 inch steel wheel for a 67-69 A-body to check if that is the right backspacing?

I have both the steel wheels and 2 sets of ralley wheels in the 5X4 SBP for my 1970 Swinger 340. If you'd like, I'll go and measure the back spacing this weekend, and send you photos. Knee pre-op tomorrow. Paul.
