If it were me I would tend to use something that will expand and contract with movement.
Foam may not do that well.

Whatever gives you max R value!! Saves on heating and AC bill. Also a really good vapor barrier (heavy plastic) helps tremendously.

Yep, that’s exactly like the photo in the link I posted. You need H-channel to fix that right.
Foam backer and a high quality caulking.
Foam backer comes in rolls of various diameters,cut to length and stuff into crack. Caulk over top.
