I just aquired a 68 GTS 4speed H code, question is would you keep the manual brakes & steering or upgrade to power?

If it was my car I’d leave it manual.

Drum or disc brake on front? If drum, I would upgrade to factory disc.

I’d try to find some kelsey hayes brakes assuming your GTS still has small bolt pattern wheels. It’ll keep car manual brakes I used a 15/16 bore master on my 65 and I like the way it stops now.

Our 67 S came with factory disc and work perfectly fine. They are non power and the S is a small block. Now with yours and being a big block, I would definitely go disc at the least. You could either go aftermarket or factory. But definitely get front discs.

I don’t like the look of the power brake booster so I was thinking of keeping the manual master

Yep, the brake booster on A bodies looks hideous and takes up a lot of space.

Power steering would be a nice upgrade, power brakes isn’t necessary if they’re set up properly.

I got non power 4 wheel drums on my Duster, been in a couple situations where some nut would pull out from a side road that required some moderate to hard braking, they haven't failed me yet.

Welcome to the site, my vote is for disc brakes too.
However, I would go with the bbp discs from a '73 and up a-body, and put bbp axles in the rear.
They are better than the sbp brakes and the parts are a lot cheaper and easier to find to boot.
I would also keep the manual brakes, just use the 15/16'' pistoned master cylinder.
IF you are doing a TRUE restoration, keep the 10'' drum brakes and manual master it came with and rebuild both, they really aren't as bad as some people think when they are in good working order..........

And like dartnut said if you decide later on to change, the bbp stuff will be easier to find and cheaper.

Welcome, I would definitely stick to non power brakes, when set up correctly they work fine, though I would swap in disc fronts for safety if you plan on driving the car much.
