Yes you can, I had the same problem and I called Cometic and Jason told me that they don't tell people to reuse them but he said they had reused a head gasket on a drag bike 9 times. They did spray it with copper coat, I use it also. If the coating comes off when you remove it you will have to spray them. If you spray them first they don't stick.
I had to remove one head after using it for approximately 300 miles cleaned it well and reused the cometic gasket no problem. I think I raised my torque pounds up a little bit and could feel the gasket actually continue to crush so far so good.about
two years now
mine were retorqued 4 times when I built mine / measureing things . I didnt torque them to full torque untill the last tightening , which was only 5 pounds diff.
I`ve read they can be reused by quite a few people . even used to be in their advertisement ----------
My dad has re used some small black head gaskets 3 times now. Race engine motor with just under 11:1 compression and doesn't see more than 6500 rpms. No issues thus far.
