I have a 1970 duster 4speed car that I restored and the reverse lights stay on no matter what gear it’s in the switch was replaced when I put the car back together

If you disconnect the Reverse Light Switch, do the lights go out?

Looking at a wiring diagram here. It's a pretty simple circuit.
I had a Reverse Light not going on with a new build, new trans and switch. Had a friend adjust the linkage, it works ok now.
If you cant adjust it to go off, is it possible the switch is bad?

I recently read a post stating to shave the switch down but can’t find the post does the switch when put in reverse push the ball in

I never saw that, though it makes sense. I'm not certain if the ball in or out activates the light.

Maybe pull the switch, (or pick up a new cheapo) , plug it in to your connector and press it in to see what happens?

No prob Bob. I'm in Fair Lawn, Bergen county, glad to help out a NJ neighbor.

Also somebody on evilbay selling NOS 4 speed reverse light switches. Has a huge box of em leftover from new process gear. I think his price is $22 . Not bad for an NOS switch with mopar part number stamped on it.
