Oregon Cam Grinders ...Has anybody here used this company
Was going to buy one off the shelf but ran into this cam grinding place. Don't know if it's any less expensive but 300+ for a new one is not in my budget, any info or input will help.....

Thanks............................................PETE...............................

Great Company. Lot of slant guys are using them. I got a regrind on a sig erson cam that I am going to run in my 170.

Rusty Rat Rob,swears by them. And he's right.... See a couple of their cams,up close. (Nice work).74,you can't go wrong. Figure 125-150,compared to 3 bills+. You will need to check push rod length,(you need to anyway!), and adjustvaccordingly. I would consider it,an astute move.

If the feed back keeps coming in this good, i just might give them a call on Monday.
Thank you guy's for you feed back. hope to hear from more members, and maybe the sound of there cam if i am lucky........

I don't know much about cams but i was looking for one like the XE268h or XE274h....
just wanted something that sounded good and had some UMPH in it...
Not looking to be a 10 sec car just fun for me and my wife.
thanks every one for the help...................

That's it! Monday morning i'll give them a call.............................
once again thanks for the HELP................................PETE..................

Pete, be prepared to give them all the specs of your car. Everything you can think of. Also tell them your proposed use of the car, what kind of driving you are planning on doing. Tranny, gears, engine specs, weight or model of car. They will fix you up.

Okay! maybe not on Monday if i have to come up with all that INFO....LOL.....

Thanks..............................................PETE........................................

I have one of their regrinds in my Hemi on the stand.

If I keep the Magnum in my Scamp, I'll call them up to regrind that stock cam...I also have a stock roller from a '90 360 that might be able to be used.

How the hell, can you lose? Been here, attention to detail ,really applies here.
.

Glad this will help a lot of us here with the help of you good people. And to think i was just going to put the stock cam back in..............glad i didn't.....................
Is there someones name at the front counter a should ask for that speaks MOPAR.....

well none of them really do BUT you just tell them you have a .904 lifter and they will grind it accordingly.

Let us know how it goes and what cam specs you end up with!

They did the regrind for my 5.9 Magnum. Excellent customer service and very helpful people. I gave them the complete specs on my car, build and intentions and they recommended a grind #1357.

Have you ran this cam yet???.. If so how did you like it or is there something about the specs you would change?..That was the same grind i was looking at.

Thanks........................................PETE.................................

I just fired up the motor for the first time yesterday. See this thread with video.

Sounds good I think but It will be a while before I have any feedback on how it performs.
What are the specs on the engine your building?

Same as you, the MAG only had 55,000 on it so just ring and brg kit. The heads are in perfect condition i did a mild port and polish everything looks good. So what came in question was the cam so here i am needing all the help i can get..Electric or mechanical fuel pump?#1357 right???. Did you stick with the 112 lobe sep or did they change it to 110 sounds loppy. What is the RPM range for this cam
and how much$$$$$ to your door.... Sorry for so many questions.

Thanks..................................PETE........................

Hi Pete
Yes, the #1357. I didn't change any of those specs.
Keep in mind I just started the engine for the first time yesterday. There could be all kinds of variables affecting the lope. The crappy carb I got of CL for cheap and rebuilt for example plus the fact I haven't built a motor in over 20 years : )

Here's my setup;
65 valiant
727 reverse valve body
9.5 converter PTC
8 3\4 with 4.30 spool
2003 5.9, junkyard rebuild, stock bottom end
EQ Clearwater heads with 2.02, springs good to .525.
RPM AIRGAP, LA style
650 DP

Any guesses as to what it might run in the 1\4? I'll be happy if it goes mid 12s.
If you have any other questions, I'm happy to answer them.
