Well Recently I bought (Oct 2016)a 66' Formula s auto column shift and no center console pretty rough body wise here in New England area for $900.00 cash.
The car was rough but all there including parts I've never seen before from the factory.
Numbers matching with a 7.250" with 3.23 SG factory too!

It's all about condition and if engine starts and runs.
A rough early A, even Formula S, is a parts car to me. It's sad but it's hard to justify the time, effort and expense of fixing up a rough one.
In general it would be worth around $1200, maybe more if it has some great bumpers, tail lights and interior.
The difficult part is getting the seller to see it as a parts car.
