rust proof your headers

-
had my powder coater do black cermaic coating, 200 bucks for long tubes and they look great and hold up even better!

I don't plan to do it just thought it was diff. way of doing things....:D

wish I ordered mine bare metal

few years ago I bought TTI ceramic coated headers
the first summer I ran them the rust came out
close to the flange and around the weld

so I think the ceramic coat was a waste of money for me

Looks pretty cool. I m interested to see if it works as well. To me those tubes looked almost like stainless anyway. Maybe 409. 409 ss will rust. I probably should have read the whole article. Lol

from what I read it was bare metal, not stainless

by the way, nice 79/80 dodge truck, is that yours?

I remember my uncle doing this in the 70's on his H-D 2 stroke road race bikes. Aermacchi make the bikes and H-D re-tagged them. What I remember the most is that his fiberglass tank was so thin you could see the gas inside the tank. For reasons unknow to me his bike had number disks and was unpainted.

It's just soaking oil into the metal pores. It doesn't last without reapplying WD-40 regularly.
