scamp tire size ?

awhile ago I made an inquiry about mounting 17" rims on my car, the cast rallye wheels year one sells, I was told they would not work on my car. however I saw where somebody had mounted them on a 1970 dart swinger. whats the difference between the swinger and scamp ?

Not much difference at all.

If you want to run a 225/45/17 on a 17x8” and don’t try to lower the front end much you can get away with it. But that’s only a 24.9” tall tire, and those tires will have as little clearance to the fender as my 275/35/18’s do. If you keep the front end up it works, lower it a little and you’ll probably have to roll the fender lips.

And that assumes you don’t have aftermarket brakes widening the track width more than a set of 73+ disks do.

I just think it’s a waste to put a 17x8 up front and then put a short, skinny 225/45/17 on it that’s still pushing your luck for clearance.
