Seam globs in hood and trunk

Hey, guys! Those globs of putty lining the inside seams of the hood and trunk...what are they? I tried using Eastwood seam sealer and it turned out like garbage. What should I use?
 
This is what I used. Dont laugh. Power grab!! it is like liquid nails, But it workes VERY good! Comes in tubes with a caulk gun. It looks just like original. Paints nicly.
Covers large gaps.

powergrab smells like its just mastic in a tube.
 
I used 3M seam sealer when I re-did my trunk. I did a hell of lot better job than the monkeys who assembled my car 48 years ago!
