I guess it's been coming for awhile.

When I joined fabo, I joined to buy parts. I still remember my first transaction like it were yesterday. It was on a 69 GTS tail panel trim from Dartmantampabay or something like that. I don't think he's around anymore.

Over the years I have bought I'm guessing 10s of thousands of dollars in parts and I accumulated a lot of cars by buying out dying salvage yards.

When I finished auto school and went to the four college, I was buying cars like they were going out of style and kept telling myself I was saving them from the crusher and those were golden years.

Well now it's 2026 and this is the probably the 3rd time I've lost steam with cars.

I've realized I have too much and the lid has to be put on at some point.

I have started scrapping and giving away a lot of cars and stuff that I'm slowly realizing I'm never going to get around to.

Thank you everyone for a good 15 years. Ive met a few minty fellers, you know who you are. I never advertised it here because this isn't Facebook and I'm not that desperate to look cool. I've also mourned a lot of minty fellers who are no longer with us..... oh the memories.

I was offered a new job and I will give a hint is near the Washington D.C. area. So if I considered you a friend, I'll be looking you up as time permits.

If not, then it was awesome to read your posts and car fellowship.

I'm not getting rid of all my cars so I might pop in if I need a part and say hi which is why it's probably a good thing there's no " delete my account" button anymore.

@RAT ROD AL , is the mintiest seller on fabo for 2026, so might be back in awhile.

Good luck on your new gig hun, you're going to hate the humidity around here come summer. You`ll probably be within 50 miles of me. Virginia? Maryland?

Why close the book on the forum? What is wrong with just popping in occasionally and leaving things open ended?

Congrats! What's the new job? You should stop by the unemployed club thread and drop a hint or two for the folks unable to gets past the AI-controlled job market. :poke:

Good luck in your new job!! You don't have to say good bye!!

It’s beautiful there .
My daughter has worked there for several years now .
She is the Chief of Staff for a very important man there .
He is running for Governor of Tennessee this year so she is done and moving back .
She is thrilled to be through with it .

A ton of responsibility and pressure but she was very proud of her job .
She wants to have children and be a stay at home mom now .
It was a blessing and an adventure,,but she’s really happy to be done .
A lot of long days and late nights,,sometimes 7 days a week .

Wait until you see what all is underground,,,it’s amazing .

Tommy

Congratulations on the new job, but I do hope you will still keep in touch with all of us old goats here. You're one of a kind in this gearhead world, in the best possible way.

may your travels always be well, and enjoy DC
I hear some amazing food there!
Good Luck, and God Bless

Good luck amd I wish you all the best. Please keep in touch. Going to miss you

Congratulations and good luck, you’re moving to my old stomping grounds. Northern Virginia is where I first got into muscle cars back in the day. I thought I would never say this, but I miss the humidity, 100° with 90% humidity.
