Probably selling my project. My question is how much of a difference in price there may be selling as a driver or partially finished and not road ready...but have 99% of everything needed.
I know there's a lot of variables and things are subjective, but generally would there be a big difference in price.
Situation, I have a 72 Demon that was basically a survivor car, depending on the definition of survivor. Was complete and original paint but not running. Engine is a warranty replacement, but rest of drivetrain is numbers matching.
Originally a 318, manual 3spd floor shift, 8 3/4 w/3.23. No build sheet, but fender tag is intact. Originally a bench seat, rubber floor mat car.
What's been done... I had lower quarters replaced due to typical rust, but was minimal. Rockers are toast, but have donor ones available. Everything else is really solid...floors, trunk pan and rails are good. I stripped floors, and refinished with enamel. Also put down Kil-Mat sound deadening as well as the roof and firewall.
Roof, quarters, deck lid and tail panel has completed bodywork and my body guy went ahead and painted the factory color instead of leaving in primer..until the whole car gets painted. Looks pretty decent.
I bought a 71 318..has been rebuilt but don't know the specs. Was told "mild" build. It's not in the car and I've not heard it run. I put new gaskets on upper and lower part of engine, painted it and added Mopar Performance valve covers..Engine looks pretty sweet, just hoping it runs as good as it looks..lol
I still have the 3spd tranny but bought a rebuilt 4spd and I'm topping it off with a new pistol grip from Brewer's. I bought nice, correct 14" sbp rallyes and covered them with new BFG's. I still have original bench interior ( needs foam and covers ) but bought year correct bucket interior, and have new Legendary covers ready to go on. Also replaced the rubber floor mat with carpet.
Still have original steering wheel, but have a really nice OEM driver quality tuff wheel as well as a new repop tuff wheel from, I think it was "Tonys Parts"..??? Tonys Cuda..??? Cant remember. To me, it looks better than the other repop tuff wheels I've seen.
Brand new dash pad, package tray, headliner, firewall gaskets, trunk divider, all installed. New pop out window seals installed. New door and roof seals. Used but correct bucket seat seat belts. Dash frame, and sail panels and interior doors refinished with 2k rattlecan paint. Looks REALLY good considering I'm a novice.
I bought an extra hood and an OEM Demon snorkel scoop that was professionally readied for paint.
I was lucky enough to find and bought a NOS front valance.
Rear bumper is new, front is good driver quality.
Has a super nice OEM grille. Super nice OEM taillights. New side marker lights.
New suspension kit. ( not installed )
Engine bay has been cleaned up, but not painted...still retains the factory assembly line "marks".. A lot of new "smalls".
I cleaned up and painted the paintable parts of the heater box. Looks really nice and has new cowl seals, and door foam.
Brake / Clutch pedal assembly refinished and painted. Steering shaft refinished and rebuild kit.
Had MoparLeo rebuild the door hinges, and they're like new.
Need a radiator, which im in the midst of buying an OEM one.. Also need an alternator, but that's about it.
I've had a price in mind ($14,000) when all put together and drivable, but wondering how far off that price I'd be if I was to sell "apart".. and maybe the price I had in mind is off too..just not sure

Wow, guess I added way too much info for a simple question.
Factory 72 Demon Hemi Orange w/black side and tail panel stripes.. 3spd manual floor shift, black bench interior. Manual steering / drum brakes.

in pieces and unknown on the motor? probably half what you were thinking so 7~8, maybe 10 depending on the bits and bobs that come with it.

without seeing pics and inane details like: how old are the tires, is the 4spd trans actually any good, etx it can be tough to say.

a driver will bring more money, even if it's half *** enough to take it around the block it might be worth your time to get it to that point.

You're WAY away from 14K as is. Although you've not said any of this, the ads I love to laugh at are the ones that say things like "easy fix" or "all the hard work done" yet, it still is in a million pieces and doesn't run. I always want to ask the seller, "If it's so easy, why not get it running and then sell it?" That normally shuts that conversation down. lol

Anything like you have that doesn't run and is in a million pieces is going to be tough to get top dollar for.

I have a 71 Duster 318 that I've planned on making into a 340 Duster clone. It has sat in my back yard for over 10 years. I've casually collected all the drivetrain parts and...in theory...I could have it running and driving in a month's time.
I may end up doing just that simply to make it easier to sell.
