Maybe someone here can clear up an issue with these damn 8 1/4 rear ends. I know there is a different carrier for different gear ratios. But I have a Mopar SG part number 18-05-039-903 that I tried to use with a new set of 3.55 MP gears. Well the carrier winds up to far away from the pinion. Ok I figure I have the wrong carrier, the one for 2.45-2.56 gears.
So now I start looking for the right one. I run across this e-bay ad. Shows a set up out of a 1989 Dakota 3.55 gear ratio. This ad shows the same part number carrier as I have?
Can someone shed some light on this for me?
