Are the cables suppose to be sealed so the ATF can't travel up the sheath or is the sheath suppose to be sealed with the covering on it and the oil is suppose to be able to travel up the cable to lube them? And does anyone have a photo of what the seal looks like if it has one?

There's two seals for the speedo pinion adapter at the transmission. One inside to keep excessive fluid out. Small wire retainer holds it. Fluid in your speedo will ruin it.

if you're talking about the actual shift cable , they usually leak where the cable and the metal meet, it can be fixed with the good shrink tubing with the glue in it.

Yes the shift cables. Is the ATF suppose to travel up the sleeve or was there a seal that would keep it out of the sleeve?
