I listen to Sirius XM radio in my Jeep Grand Cherokee, but only a little bit. Literally a few minutes here and a few minutes there, and it is usually on one of only 4 or 5 channels. Every year, I get Emails and phone calls to sign up for another year for about $12 a month. Every year I say, "No. That is way too much. I don't listen to Sirius enough to justify that. For that price I will cancel." Then they always come back with abut $10 per month. and I say, "No Thanks, just cancel me please." Then They always come back with $60 per year which I agree to. I am just sharing.

I basically do the same thing too, but every 6 months for $25.00
Did that type of renewal 3 times now, without any difficulties.
Hope i can continue to do the same.
Just gotta call into them, before your subscription date comes to an end.
I always circle the date on my calendar.

It will also work the other way, when I had my challenger, I traded it in, and it had a little less than a year left on the subscription.
I called and cancelled it on the challanger, and said that I bought a new truck.
I asked for a refund, the sales guy, said we can just transfer it over on the new truck.
I agreed, and everything was great for the next 14 months.....

Then the subscription died, I contacted them, the bastards transferred it the new truck, yep at $60 a month and basically screwed me out of 10 months of service that I paid for.

          Love Sirius XM

I’ve never paid more than $60 for a full year, but the taxes/fees are 30% on top of that. (13% Government tax and 17 or 18% Royalty fee). So it’s critical to keep paying the lowest price possible because the taxes/fees really multiply at the higher subscription price.

A few weeks ago I noticed 3 charges on my credit card bills over the previous 3 months for $22.63 each month. I realized that I forgot to cancel my subscription before the renewal date and was now being charged the full rate of $272 for the year.

I called Sirius to cancel and the agent asked what can we do to keep a loyal 6 year customer? So I said “If you credit me back the 3 months of $22.63 each, move my subscription to my summer car (which they charge $15 for the car change) and give me 1 year for $60 on each of my 2 radios, I’ll renew right now” They guy puts me on hold and comes back an says “okay we’ll do it”
I thought there was no way they would agree to that, but they did.

One of my radios is a portable one that I move between my Dart (played through the factory AM thumbwheel using a Redi-Rad) and my Toyota Highlander. Classic Vinyl or 60’s on 6 gives me the period correct vibe cruising in my Dart.

I listen to Sirius XM all the time at work through my computer too.

I started with XM radio when it was new tech back in the late 90’s. I have been a subscriber for 20 + years. Always went through the yearly price negotiation, I never paid full price. However as time passed it seems that SirusXM has morfed into everything that was bad about over the air radio. Too much DJ talking. I would find myself changing stations just to get away from the ‘Radio Personalities’. I listen to radio to get music, not to hear some idiot talk.
I cancelled and went with Spotify.
I had previously tried the free Spotify and it was ok. The subscription Spotify is fabulous. Any artist-Any song -Anytime. There are full albums, play lists with out end. And did I say, it’s all music, no DJ’s.
And one more thing, the sound quality of the paid Spotify is crazy good. Listening across the same equipment, SiriusXM and free Spotify are about the same for sound. The paid Spotify is remarkably better. It is amazing. Since I left SiriusXM I get an email daily offering a $5.00 monthly rate. Once my 3 month free Premium Spotify trial is over I will be paying $9.99 per month. And to me that is a bargain, because it is all music and it’s all the music that I choose.

Once a year we dance for 15 minutes and then Sirius agrees to last years price again ..$71.25 for the year with the taxes and fees. I just wish the DJ's would STFU.

Agreed. If I wanted to hear DJs yammering, I'd listen to regular radio.

                Totally agree on the STFU.

I like XM radio, especially when traveling since I know all the channels at all times. I do find myself flipping the channels more often then years ago. I keep the service in our truck and Jamie's Subaru because she likes it. I have found myself using Pandora a lot more recently. I have a few channels that I like and seem to keep things fresh.

One of my radios is a lifetime subscription, did they get rid of it?

Where I live we have 0 radio reception by me. Have been listening to Sirius since 98 or so. Had a 35 minute commute. Used to hear about 10 minutes of music... the rest was Earnhardt commercials..."this aint no bull" is permanently burnt into my brain.

I’m not sure, but a friend of mine just sold their car with the lifetime membership and it cost them $75 to transfer the subscription to another car.

I have a “Lifetime Subscription “ on my portable sxm radio that I bought for $399 back in 2006. Way ahead of the game now.

Lifetime subscription ended years ago. I believe you have 2 or possibly 3 times to transfer @ $75/transfer and it’s done.

Don't forget that if you have a SXM subscription you can add 1 free device via their APP. This way you can use anywhere you have Bluetooth.

this morning I listened, un interupted to the Ry Cooder album Prodical Son. From there I went into a play list of Ry Cooder-Leon Helms-Stephen Stills and others.
From there it was my choice to listen to an obscure Bob Dylan album from 1978, Street Legal,, once again without DJ's or interuptions. If I want to know an artist or the name of a song I can always look at the screen on my phone. Or if I really like it, play it again. Try that with SiriusXM.
There was a time when I was a huge XM radio fan. No longer. If I can get just one SiriusXM radio DJ fired, I have served my purpose. Music on the radio should be about the music and not the DJ.

My wife listens to a lot of the R & B stations on Sirius. Most of the DJ's on those stations are very biased to the Democratic party...and are also boarder line racist. Several of them are also very anti-police. I have written several emails to Sirius about this...and actually got a personal response. Since then the guy I was bitching about has lightened up some...I can't imagine I was the only one bitching about the guy.
Don't know about this anymore. Several years back I think all of the DJ's were in NYC. Several of them I grew up listening to them on the commercial stations in New Jersey and New York.

Shit i must tune the dj's out because I couldn't tell you anything they say or believe in. I do usually turn the station as soon as I hear talk too so maybe that's part of it.

Oh I'm totally with you. I have a Spotify account and some extensive playlists. I use them in my classic, DD and motorcycle. My wife has SXM account.
I was just sharing for those who were not aware.

I had it years ago. My radio croaked and a buddy gave ne his old one that still worked fine. Called them to change it and they wanted some ridiculous price. Told em to shove it and tossed it in the trash.
I got calls from those scoundrels for over a year and the last call i promised to report them to consumer and corporate affairs as harassment.
                            Never hear from again.
My entire music collection is in my phone. Good enough and i can live stream my favorite radio station.
