I have a 400 block I am going to stroke. I have a set of carburetors from a 1970 440 I want to use on it. I was looking in Summit last night and they offer a six pack intake for the 383/400 and one for the 440. What would be the difference since heads are interchangeable?

383/400 engine has a different deck height than the 440....so the intake manifolds do not interchange.

There are two "series" of big block, "B" & "RB".

B engine are the ones with 3.375" stroke: 361, 383, 400

RB engines are the ones with 3.75" stroke: 413, 426 Wedge, 440

The RB engines are a bit taller and have a slightly wider intake manifolds (about 1") than the B engines.

Thanks guys. I am new to Mopars. I used to run FE Fords and am having fun learning about something new.

Wow! The ol'FE. A buddy had a 390 in his Cougar. Don't know if it was stock or not. It hustled pretty good.

Welcome aboard

Yea I ran 390s and a 428. They were fun motors! Always liked Mopar and decided to give it a go. Bought a 73 Duster and a 340 to put in it. Then bought a 72 Duster for the 8 3/4 rear end in it. Found out the 72 was in better shape than I thought so now I am putting the 340 in that. I had been fighting with myself originally over whether to install a big block or small block on the 73. Since I will be putting the 340 in the 72 I figured now I have the excuse to install a big block in this one lol.
