I can’t find an answer of why stock radiators have a different size bracket on each side so the radiator is skewed when its installed.

Could it help the cooling effect by not blowing straight through the coils? I have two different rads so I know I’m not nuts.

Strange, both my 66 and 70 are square.

Probably because it's been hit from the front and the radiator support is jacked out of shape.

The pics are radiator # 2445633. Thats out of my B body

The rad in my A body #2524972.

Both are the kinda round tank

Its a 1/2”

It's obvious that the brackets aren't too straight and it looks like they have been removed and re soldered to the tank.

I agree about the brackets being removed and reinstalled. As old as it is, there's no telling what's been done.

I would agree but on both rads the brackets are in the same spot on top and one bracket is 3 3/4”and the other is 3 1/4”

Who's to say the brackets are from the same application if they have been removed and re-soldered.

Is not the engine, trans, the whole driveline offset because of the differential.....

The offset is not in discussion here. The radiator is not straight in relation to the radiator support.

My friends dad circle track races a 390 Ford back in the day and he had cooling issues. He kicked back the top of the tank toward the air cleaner and never had cooling issues after that. The rads in our SD trucks are almost at a 30 degree rake but I think its because you can get more tad in there if you put it in diagonally.

What Dicer said, the pinion placement of the rear axle is off set so consequently the rest of the drivetrain is off set & the radiator is offset so the fan pulls from the basic center line of it. In my bracket Demon, the carb is not sitting in the center of the hood scoop because if the drive line offset.

Would you want the radiator square to the body/support or square to the fan and shroud?

Radiators are normally square to the radiator support.

The two radiators I have are skewed toward the driver side so If in fact it was to be square to the offset engine its the opposite
