Skunkwürks quarantine 4.0 build

-
Well after the loss of my son, covid crap, and just general quarantine BS.. My engine goes to the dyno today!

Thinking of putting this emblem on my car

sorry for your loss , **** the car . just take your time and take care of yourself .
like the emblem , i stuck 318 on my car

Thanks, I am doing just that!

I have been working on this project since 1997.. gathering parts and supplies and storing them in my son's garage. When he passed last year just before Thanksgiving and we were faced with inventorying all his belongings it was only then that I realized how much crap had been accumulated. I got the green light from the wife to finish my projects so if something were to happen to me, she would not be faced with the burden of dealing with a garage full of stuff.
So, we are devoting time to finish the 72 Dart and 73 Challenger.

I have put off my stuff for the sake of others for far too long.

It would have been better to have been overhauled or garage squadded but no such luck..

The worst thing a parent can do is bury one of your children. I send you big prayers for your loss, and more prayers for you to continue you life without him. Your wife sounds like a strong, level headed woman. Prayers sent to both of you.

Here ya go errbuddy got the numbers..

Went to the dyno with the victor EFI manifold and a pig rich brawler 750 carb, they dropped five jets on the primary and it was still rich.
Seems it was not good out of the box.

Timing was at 34 full advance.
Dyno'd with 1 5/8 headers, I am running the TTI Steps.
I will be running an Edelbrock Proflo 4 when it gets installed in my dart.
I am not sure whether the fuel system or headers will make any substantial difference or not.

This is a streetcar that will see some occasional track time.
Cope low gear 904 RVMB w/ lockup and a PTC 11" converter.
8.75 w 3:55 Sure grip.
It pulls 16lbs of vacuum at idle and runs on pump gas @ sea level ..
497 torque and 448 hp

All in all it was in the ballpark of what we set out for, I am sure there will be miles and miles of smiles!

Any updates? as its been a while.

I am stalled due to work, but some progress is being made. Electrical is in progress. Scored some 15 x 10 cop rear wheels and 15 x 7 fronts. Sent them to powder coating, just trying to figure out which tires to use.

I sent the 15x10 and 15x7 rims out for powder coating, and ordered Nitto 325 50R15 tires. They fit like a glove in the mini tubbed wheel housings.

The repro cop wheels 15x8 255 60R15 rear and 15 x 7 troop wheels and tires are for sale in the classifieds.

Electric is taking a loooong the shop is very busy. Patience is a virtue at this point.
