    Hello All,

looking for someone to rebuild my slant 6 for my 67 cuda. Want reliable but with some more power. Looking for a good builder in Ca I can take my engine/car to. Currently the slant 6 is running pretty well.

I would like to hop it up definitely. Thinking going dual exhaust. Currently can’t even spin the tires haha

doesnt appear to be caved in?

yeah that’s a good point.. I’ll carry and extra 2 gal, and let it fully run out of gas.

Get it completely dry and take a compressed air gun and give it a shot of air into the fuel line with the cap on. If it were even dented, this was enough to pop mine back out when I ran over a curb at night and put a pretty good dent into the fuel tank. Also what your looking for is just a machine shop to bore your cylinders out to the next size. It doesn't take a specialist to put it back together. Any cylinder head shop can do a .090 cut on the head and that doesnt even take special pushrods. 3 angle valve job, reground cam, 2bbl intake... headers. That's about as far as you can go with a slant. Taller gear in the back is the first thing I would do to wake up a slant, most came with cruiser 2.76 rears.

Dual exhaust really isn't the best option for a slant six.....but if Justin is gonna help you out, he can advise you on all that.

I have a machine shop that can bore it out, I did it to my inline 6 on my Jeep. But that was a lot, do they make a stroker kit for the 225? And I heard stroking it only makes it a 232 so is it even worth it?

what’s the easiest cheapest way to get a little more power?

Mmm gears- what gear would you recommend, still would like to be able to go 65 down the highway.

No stroking a 225. It already has a 4.125" stroke. You can offset grind the crank, but it's not worth it because it adds so little.

Dont stroke it, not enough return as it already has a 4 1/8 stroke. Id raise the compression, cam it, offy like intake and headers and rear gears. 3.23 gears are a nice jump but not terrible on the high way. Rob, you scooped me again.....

Thinking of doing 3:73, not going to be a long haul highway driver. Also heard changing the stall makes a big difference.

Smaller engines and inline sixes in general like lower gears, so you got the right idea. I'm going 4.10 ultimately in mine.

10-4! should I just go straight to 4:10 than? What Rpm would I be at going 70? Either way only going to be in the highway max 10 min.

where do you get these gears at?

What size rear tire are you planning? The 4.10 is for my build, yours may vary.

27" tall tire. I had 28 11.50 15s on my 65 with 4.30s. At 55 it was about 2850 give or take. Necer bothered me and I drove partial interstate both ways back and forth to work almost four years. As long as you don't mind limiting your speed "most of the time" it's really not bad at all. BUT don't just jump to 4.10s. As long as you build the car TO the 3.73s it will probably be just as fun and not be wound out as much.

You may need to go with a Ford 8.8. I don't see 3.73s available for the 7.25.
