Bare block- $75
Head w/valves- $50
Cast crank- $40 (No picture at this time)
You must come & get this as I don't want the hassle of shipping at these prices.
I have other small items for this engine also, just ask.
I'm in the Pa. 19030 Zip code.

If and when you get a picture of the crank, I may be interested if it's the right one.

Here are pictures of the crankshaft & numbers on the block. I was told it was a 1968 block, but it has a cast crank so I'm thinking 1978.
If all this stuff isn't gone by next week, I'm taking it to the scrap yard

Huh. It's been awhile since I have been in one of those engines, but that looks like a forged crank to me.
There is an "E" on the block number but not where it usually is for a cast crank. I believe it would have to be right after the "225" for it to be a cast crank block
"E" was also used as a date stamp in other locations in that sequence of numbers.
I remember reading the details in dutra's book but it's been a while since then.

You may be correct Don & I could be wrong. I look at the parting line on crankshafts to tell. Usually, if the parting line is wide, it's forged, if narrow it's cast. This crank has a narrow parting line. I think there is a way to tell also by tapping on it. They will make different sounds but, I'm not sure. Either way, same price. I just want it all gone. It's too bad you're so far away, this D-250 I have for sale is right up your alley.
