Has anyone used the B/E body slapstick shifter in an A body? would it fit in an A body console? Considering it. I have the factory A body console and shifter to convert my column shift to the floor. I have always liked the slapstick feature. I would have no problems running it without a console but that might look a bit dorkish.

Absolutely....I did it in my Demon with some tutorial from @Jim Lusk

A new hole has to be drilled in the top arm of the torque shaft approx 1/4 inch in from the original.

Also, I had to modify the console mounting brackets to allow the console to be moved a tad forward due to the forward tilt of the 70 Cuda slapstick I was using.

Under the console, you will see a chrome "ramp" where the the shifter surround plastic slides down. I had to trim that, and put a small notch in the shifter mounting bracket to allow room for that black plastic strip to slide when the shifter is moved towards 1st gear.

Lastly, the hole in the black plastic strip that the shifter fits through needs to be made larger to facilitate the larger diameter slapstick.

This thing works great, and IMHO, looks way better than the original.

Good luck

Don't be too shocked guys & gals, but look for a console shifter from a '70's Cordoba(probably Magnums too), they have a straight round chrome shaft w/a knob & button. It wasn't printed on the shift plate like it is on the B/E bodies, but it was a slapstick, I put it in the Killer6.
