An old chicken farmer goes out and buys a new rooster. When he gets home with it, his wife ask him, "What's with the new rooster?"
"Well the old rooster is getting kinda old, and jes ain't keepin up like he used to." he told her, "Time for some new blood."
So the new rooster struts into the hen house and runs smack into the old rooster, the two are eyeballing each other, circling, glaring and staring, and pretty soon some of the hens are clucking about how young and strong the youngster looks and how he might just wind up taking over all the old rooster's duties.
The old rooster isn't liking the drift of this at all, so he puffs out his chest, gets right up in the youngster's face, and challenges him to a foot race to see who is the better of the two, but wants just a couple lengths head start, out of respect for his age and position
The youngster scoffs, agrees to the race, and even offers a bigger head start for the old rooster. All the chickens file out of the henhouse to watch. So they line up, the oldest hen gives the signal, and they take off, tearing on around the house. The old rooster is making good use of his head start, and has a pretty good lead, but the young rooster is pretty fast, and is starting to catch up, stride by stride, both giving it everything the've got. The young rooster is surprized by the speed and stamina the old rooster's got, but nevertheless, by the time they get around the side of the house and start rounding the corner to the front, the youngster is right on the old patriarch's tail fathers, gaining on him step by step. Suddenly, the farmer, sitting in his rocker on the front porch, sees the pair, reaches behind him, grabs his shotgun and BLASTS the young rooster into a cloud of feathers. His wife runs to the front door and asks him what in the world he's shooting at.
"I just shot that new rooster, DAMMIT, that's the third Gay Rooster I've bought this month!!!!"
