Had some time off this week...FINALLY and in between the usual list of chores and other stuff to get done decided to tackle replacing my speedometer in my '66 wagon. Neither the speedo or odometer worked. After getting the dash apart, I discovered no needle to the speedo and the plastic gear to the odometer was cracked in half and rolling around inside the instrument cluster.
Well, I did put in a "new" speedo on bought on Ebay (and bench tested). Replaced some burnt out instrument bulbs, lube the contacts, put in a new speedo cable and undid some not so clever "wiring" a previous owner did...which was suspended by a shoelace no less...
Any, back together now, but more of an adventure than I had expected...aren't they all...
