Hello All,

Is there a vendor That Sells Solid Transmission mounts for a '68 A Body?

I have a motor plate and would like to get the trans mount solid as well.
Currently I have an imperial Services one that is getting pretty beat up.

If not, I suspect that I will have to break out the welder and make one myself.

Thank you.

Slant six, I would strongly advise against that. If the engine twists the frame or anything at all twists, you'll lose the extension housing. I'd not risk it if it were mine.

If you have an engine plate you don’t need a solid mount. It will break your gear box.

X3 - Even with frame connectors and roll barthat stiffen the chassis, a poly mount is as stiff as you should go. Even then, make sure it's not in a bind.

Thanks guys,

I will go with poly then.
My imperial services mount has held up well but it's time to replace. It has taken a beating.

I was not sure if cars used a solid mount. Apparently not.

I had a small block Dart with solid Moroso engine biscuits and the standard OEM transmission mount. Worked with no problems. Was going to update to the later trans crossmember and urethane style mount...75 model.
